Carlos’s drumming journey began in his youth, but it was through his years of performance, training, and leadership that his talent transformed into a movement. As a former member of the National Championship-winning Jazz Stepper Drill Team, Carlos didn’t just play to the beat—he helped set it. His natural leadership and musical instinct led him to the next level: Directing the Elite Striders Drill Team, where he successfully guided them to multiple national championships. Under his leadership, the team became known not just for high-level execution, but for performance with heart, style, and unmatched energy.

In 2025, Carlos took his talents back to his roots by stepping in as Assistant Director for the North Chicago Warhawk Marching Band, where he played a key role in returning the program to regional dominance. His commitment to structure, showmanship, and student development re-energized the band, giving it new life and elevating its status in the marching band community.

Carlos has also been a proud and active partner of the Legacy Reentry Foundation for the past five years, working on various initiatives that serve the youth and underserved populations of North Chicago. This long-standing relationship makes the current partnership between Legacy and the Foss Park District for the Marching Flames Majorette and Drumline Program both familiar and seamless to manage. His deep understanding of both organizations ensures that the program is not only high-impact but also rooted in community trust, structure, and results.
